Mozambican government approves new industrial licensing regulations

The Mozambican government has approved new regulations for industrial licensing to prevent risks and create a good business climate in Mozambique, the Minister for Industry and Trade, Armando Inroga said Tuesday in Maputo. At the end of a council of ministers meeting, Inroga also said that the new regulations, which replace regulations from 2003, did away with some requirements and decentralised responsibilities for issuing licenses to large, medium-sized and small businesses. Micro and small companies will be required only to fill out a simple form and licenses will no longer be issued based on an official request process, the minister said cited by daily newspaper Notícias. Under the new regulations the time it takes to issue a license has been reduced from 30 to 21 days for large companies and to seven days for small and medium-sized companies (Macauhub News Agency).
